Supplying Artwork

MENUZO Artwork Guidelines

To ensure the best possible print quality for your menus and marketing materials, please make sure your artwork is supplied in a print-ready format, at the correct size, with the correct colour settings, and includes the required bleed area.

Following these guidelines will help avoid delays and ensure your order prints perfectly.

File Size

The maximum file size that can be uploaded to the MENUZO website is 1GB. This is more than enough for most menu artwork when exported in the correct format.

If you experience any issues uploading your file, please contact the MENUZO design team, who can help diagnose the issue or arrange an alternative method for you to supply your artwork.

It is also important that your artwork is not too small. Images that look clear on screen may lose quality when printed at full size. Please ensure your artwork is created at the correct resolution.

Recommended File Types

PDF (Preferred Format)

We recommend supplying artwork as a high-resolution PDF (300dpi).

Your PDF must be prepared with the following settings:

• Resolution: High Resolution (300dpi)

• Compression: Downsample to 300dpi with high quality compression

• Fonts: Embed all fonts

• Colour Mode: CMYK (not RGB)

• Colour Profile: FOGRA39

Artwork supplied in RGB will automatically be converted to CMYK, which may slightly change colours.

Adobe Illustrator

• Include all embedded images

• Convert all text to outlines (curves)

• Save the file as an EPS

Adobe Photoshop

• Set document resolution to 300dpi

• Save the file as a high-quality JPEG

Other Design Software

If you are using other software not listed above, please export your artwork as either:

• EPS

High-resolution JPEG

Please note that flattened files (JPEG/EPS) cannot easily be edited. If changes are required, we may ask you to supply the original AI, PSD or PDF file.

Adobe InDesign Files

If you are supplying artwork created in Adobe InDesign, please use the Package function under the File menu.

This will include:

• All fonts

• All linked images

• The InDesign document

Please compress the folder using ZIP or WinZip before uploading.

We also recommend including a PDF proof so we can confirm that nothing has moved or changed in the layout.

Microsoft Documents

MENUZO cannot print directly from the following file types:

• Word

• Excel

• PowerPoint

• Publisher

• Works

These applications are not designed for professional print production.

If you must use Microsoft software, please export or convert your file to a PDF before uploading.

After converting to PDF, please check:

• Colours appear correctly

• All text and images are present

• Images are high resolution (300dpi)

Colour Settings

All artwork for printing must be created in CMYK colour mode, not RGB.

CMYK uses:

• Cyan

• Magenta

• Yellow

• Black

This matches the way commercial printers mix ink during printing.

RGB artwork will be converted to CMYK automatically, which may slightly alter colours.

Pantone colours will also be converted to CMYK unless a special print process has been arranged.

Bleed & Trimming

All MENUZO artwork must include 3mm bleed on all sides.

Bleed ensures that background colours and images extend past the trim edge to avoid white edges after cutting.

Example:

Final product size:

A6 = 148 × 105 mm

Artwork file size should be:

154 × 111 mm (including 3mm bleed)

Any background colour or image must extend fully into the bleed area.

Crop Marks

Adding crop marks is optional.

If your artwork is supplied at the correct size with 3mm bleed, our print team can prepare it for printing without crop marks.

Multi-Page Artwork

If your menu or brochure has multiple pages, please supply:

• One single PDF

• Pages in the correct order

Example:

Page 1 – Front cover

Page 2 – Inside left

Page 3 – Inside right

Page 4 – Back cover

If you upload separate files, please number them clearly

01_filename

02_filename

03_filename

Do not arrange pages as printer spreads — supply them in normal reading order.

Wiro Bound Products

If your menu uses wiro binding, please leave 10mm margin on the binding edge.

This prevents important artwork or text from being hidden by the wire binding.

Spot UV & Foil Finishes

For products that include Spot UV or Foil, you must supply

• One page for the standard CMYK artwork

• One page showing the Spot UV or Foil area

This allows our print team to apply the finish accurately.

Proofing Your Artwork

Before printing, MENUZO will provide an online proof so you can review your artwork.

Please check carefully fo

• Spelling mistakes

• Layout issues

• Colours

• Missing element

Once a proof is approved, the artwork will go straight to print. MENUZO cannot be responsible for errors that were not corrected during the proofing stage.
